Mysuru, Jan 13(UNI) Following increase in incidences of Doctors and
staff being assaulted by patients relatives and some elected
representatives, authorities have decided to install 18 more CCTVs  in K R Hospital here.
Hospital Superintendent Dr Chandrashekar said that there were over 32 CCTV cameras on the premises, but the hospital will soon seek permission to install another 18 units. The presence of the cameras will check attacks on hospital employees besides preventing corrupt and illegal activities in the hospital premises.
A few CCTV cameras have been put up at the Nurse Hostel also. Dr Chandrashekar said the police outpost was shifted next to the casualty department for better monitoring. Warning signs have been displayed in all departments to enlighten people about the consequences of assaulting doctors or other employees of the
hospital.

All medical staff have been asked to deal with patients and their attendants politely.
Meanwhile, Dr Krishnamurthy, Dean and Director of Mysore Medical College, said that he would sanction additional CCTV cameras if the hospital authorities sought them, and that CCTV cameras would also be installed in the Men’s and Women’s Hostels.
